After being alerted by the Cuckoos of Cable's arrival in the present timeline, Cyclops rallies his men and sends them to their respective posts. His alpha roster which consists of Wolverine, Colossus, Psylocke, Angel, Nightcrawler, X-23 with the inclusion of Magik is ordered to look for Cable and Hope. They are to bring them back home safe and sound.

Psylocke and Angel had a tender moment before they leave for the moon, find Apocalypse and eliminate him. She told him that she joined the team to help him control the deadly Archangel. More than that, Psylocke said that after losing Nightcrawler, after everything she has gone through, she just want to hold on to something real and that was her love for Angel. Then, they kissed.

Deployed by Cyclops to shut down a weapons-manufacturing facility managed by Cameron Hodge, the New Mutants engages the Right in a battle. Midway, Hodge initiates a cranial transplant to a robotic monstrosity. Quickly, Cannonball orders Karma to control Hodge. The plan backfires as the enemy resists her possession. Hodge traces her whereabouts and attacks her. In the end, Karma was left incapacitated.

The New Mutants is caught by surprise as they face the long-forgotten Inferno babies. Magik is the first to be subdued. Soon after, the rest of the team fell into the clutches of the renegade group.
