No it's not about Psylocke. Nor Angel.

X-Men: Messiah CompleX has completely rocked the status quo of Marvel's merry mutants. With the mutant kind still in the brink of extinction and the X-Men disbanded, the future, the mysterious baby, is now at the hands of Cable whom teleported to some future era yet to be specified.

I will be finishing the X-Men: Messiah CompleX summaries soon. I swear. At least before the relaunch of the new X-Teams by Uncanny X-Men #500.

The following won't make much of an impact without the proper background but nevertheless, the latest solicitations for Cable #3 shows this image:

It has been highly debated whether the baby is indeed the reincarnation of Jean Grey, Marvel's poster-girl for resurrection. It seems that there is a hint of truth given the image spoilers (see the reflection in the baby's eyes). Since Jean Grey is the physical manifestation of the Phoenix Force, death is a non-issue to her for she will always be reborn - as her namesake implies, "... like a Phoenix rising from the ashes...".

So how come she's a baby? A Phoenix is reborn not reanimated. Jean Grey IS dead. True that her body was resurrected by the Phoenix fragments during the Phoenix: Endsong saga (a definite must-read for all the Jean Grey fans - awesome art and brilliant story) but when she took control of the force, she chose to enter the White Hot Room to make herself and the Phoenix fragments whole again.

The White Hot Room has remained a mystery to me until today. From what I know it acts as the conscience of the Phoenix force, a higher plane of reality which serves as the home for the Phoenix hosts. So I'm guessing that this is sort of the limbo wherein the Phoenix reconstitutes itself.

So the baby IS Jean Grey. Awesome. Well, the clues really match -

• The baby manifested an enormously abnormal amount of mutant energy at its birth.
• It has green eyes. The Grey's are known for that eye color. Every geek knows that.
• It's a she, by the way.
• And a redhead too.
• She instantly formed a connection to the locket of Cyclops (containing the pictures of Jean and their son, Cable)
• Jean's the only mutant worth having the crossover just to bring her back.
• And she was brought by Cable to the future to avoid the hassle of having to "grow" her in comic book time (which would actually take a decade to just age by a year).

Well, things are bound to get really interesting. Considering the following:

HERE COMES TOMORROW
As Jean dies in Scott's arms (due to the planetary-scale stroke induced by Magneto), she tells him to live. Subconsciously telling the love of his life to be with Emma Frost (the White Queen) and keep the Xavier Institute alive.

EMPEROR VULCAN
After Vulcan, the long lost Summers brother, proclaimed himself as the emperor of the Shi'Ar empire after killing D'Ken and his father Corsair in the process, Havok took over the leadership of the new Starjammers. Together with his lover Polaris and niece Rachel Grey, they plan on overthrowing the empire and killing the former X-Man.

END OF GREYS
The entire Grey clan has been wiped out by the Shi'Ar Death Commandos to avoid having future Phoenix hosts. It has been theorized that the Grey, and possibly Summers, clan produces omega-level mutants which is the main criteria to be a host for the force.

If this is true then I'm having an early Christmas present from Marvel.
