DYNAMITEChristina Aguilera
Keeps Gettin' Better: A Decade Of Hits
... the night was electronic painted red with lust...
Aguilera has Lady GaGa written all over her - from the hair down to the barely-recognizable, synthesized vocals. It is undeniable that her new sound is a cheap move to join the electro-pop bandwagon. And just like with any other song from that sub-genre, Dynamite is a passable but highly forgettable pop track. It is the second single taken from her greatest hits compilation and doubles as a glimpse of the change that's about to happen on her next album. Sadly, it doesn't really create the anticipation and hype that she's been rooting for. Had she known that Dynamite would come out as one of her weakest tracks, she wouldn't have traded her signature caterwauling for a mum-mum-mum-mah voice. That's what happens to sell-outs - a flop single and a bad case of photo editing. And one more thing, sexy doesn't really work on Aguilera. She should probably stop trying because it won't happen.
BOTTLE POP (RADIO EDIT)The Pussycat Dolls
Doll Domination
... no matter who makes her purr, she's a superstar...
Unlike Scherzinger and her glorified backup dancers who are sexy personified. Sexy, and limber personified. They're back, standing oversplits and all, with Bottle Pop which features a phoned-in guesting from BFF Snoop Dogg on the album version. He was supposed to give the girls the much-needed street cred much like with Buttons, an earlier hit from their debut PCD which achieved relative success, in Oceania. Sadly, the tracks works better without his lines. The sung intro and the break dance portion actually makes the club banger more danceable, hence more interesting. Again, like any single that is riding the recent surge of electronica, Bottle Pop is a generic throwaway - the vocals are negligible as long as the beats deliver. One wouldn't mind not knowing the words to it because they'll be too busy trying to be like Flexy Doll. Yep, she's the one who does the overhead splits. Every chance she gets.
IF U SEEK AMYBritney Spears
Circus
... oh baby, baby if you seek amy tonight...
It may rank along the likes of Dynamite and Bottle Pop in terms of longevity, or the lack of it, but If U Seek Amy has something that the other two doesn't - chutzpah. Released as the third single off Circus, If U Seek Amy is a stand out track that interpolates a schoolyard singsong beat with a cleverly written, racy wordplay. Kudos to Max Martin and the gang for working their magic on this track - even without the innuendos (read the title fast, then hang your head in shame if you still don't get it), the pop song singly stands as a hit so irresistible that boys and girls would really want to, you know, do her. Unfortunately, negative reactions from the public has caused Spears' camp to make changes in the song. Losers. How quickly these losers forget that it was just recently when they allowed Katy Perry to declare that she kissed a girl, and she liked it. Not that anything's wrong with two girls kissing. Just saying.

i listened to her whole album and this one track got my attention, although it is a great bold track with lots of thought put into it, i still think there are other songs in the album that sound better, like phonography, unusual you or even amnesia.
If You See Amy wouldn't make sense without the 'k' so right, losers.
@ruff nurse-de-jour: Couldn't have said it any better. Bravo to Britney et al. Wee! :)
@glen: I know, right?! The media can't decide whether they'd love her or hate her. Tsk.
Anyway, yep. I agree that there are other songs that are far better than IFSA but it is undeniable that the said song is the one with THE attitude.
